Mighty Girls 

Im Leslie and I am from Colorado.  I came across cloth pads after being diagnosed with cervical dysplasia. While this diagnosis was scary, I knew that my health was now more important than ever. I was looking for an alternative to disposable pads and came across a whole new world of reusable pads.  As I started making reusable pads and realizing what a joy it was to get to use them, I decided I wanted to spread that joy to girls who need it most! While learning more about cloth pads, I also learned that girls and women in rural areas in South Africa are struggling with their monthly periods. I couldn't believe that this is such a large problem and I really wanted to help. I will be making a trip down to South Africa in December and want to bring as many kits as we can put together to give to girls in poverty. Please help us in this venture to provide Mighty Girl Kits to girls who need them most!

 

Hi my name is Kathleen, born in Zambia but currently living in South Africa.

The First time I heard about Cloth Pad was from my sister in law Leslie after she was diagnosed with cervical dysplasia.  I started a foundation to help children with daily needs such as,  food, clothing, and school fees. Currently, I am working with child headed families and woman called Murunwa foundation, so we decided to start one for girls in need of pads and personal hygiene products.  The name comes from the fact that all our children’s names start with M and the group is to support girls so we came up with the name MIGHTY Girls. Leslie has really opened my eyes about the number of girls that miss school because of this problem. Please help us in this venture to provide Mighty Girl Kits to girls who need them most!
